Wharton African American MBA Association
Wharton African American MBA Association (AAMBAA) represents all students of African descent in the MBA program at the Wharton School. AAMBAA emphasizes academic achievement, community involvement, and career success, and supports students in those ends through various programs and initiatives. AAMBAA is dedicated to increasing the number of students of African descent at the Wharton School through outreach to prospective students, and building bridges to alumni to maximize the power of the AAMBAA alumni network.

Wharton Hispanic American MBA Association
Wharton Hispanic American MBA Association (WHAMBAA) is an organization with a threefold mission: to increase qualified minority representation, to provide a balanced Wharton experience, and to act as an exceptional career resource. WHAMBAA is actively involved in recruiting events such as Explore Wharton and Wharton Welcome Weekend. WHAMBAA builds its sense of community through a wide range of social events, and focuses on being a career resource to its members by working with firms interested in recruiting Hispanic talent and maintaining a good relationship with professional organizations such as NSHMBA (National Society of Hispanic MBAs).

Wharton Women in Business
Wharton Women in Business (WWIB) is a professional organization that strives to enhance the Wharton experience for all MBA women. The organization coordinates efforts in admissions, alumnae outreach, professional development, health and well-being, community service, athletic and inter-club activities. Wharton Women in Business hosts an annual conference that brings together current Wharton women and Wharton alumnae to promote and celebrate women in business. In addition, WWIB fosters camaraderie throughout the graduate Wharton Women community through a variety of social activities.

Out for Business
Out for Business (Out4Biz) is Wharton's gay, lesbian, and bisexual professional and social club providing a network for students, faculty, and staff. Out4Biz strives to build an open and accepting environment for all Wharton students, and counts several straight allies among its members. Out4Biz provides an opportunity to network with other gay, lesbian, and bisexual professionals and share professional interests and goals while connecting with companies across the globe. The organization interacts with other business schools, Wharton alumni, and the communities of Penn and Philadelphia to impact its community beyond Wharton. And Out4Biz hosts fabulous parties! Out4Biz recognizes that people are at different stages of coming out, and participating in Out4Biz does not mean you have to be out. |
Student Perspectives
"During my first visit to Wharton, I asked members of a student panel why I had not heard anyone mention the word 'leadership'. One student responded, "Because at Wharton leadership is not boasted about, it's assumed. We expect that of our peers and of ourselves." This response captured everything I came to admire about Wharton students. Humble yet capable, demanding yet open minded, leaders through actions not words, Wharton students embodied the attributes I saw in, and sought for, myself. And I knew that Wharton was a community I had to be a part of." -Justin Alexander, WG '10
"As a prospective student attending Explore Wharton, I was very impressed with AAMBAA and their extensive involvement in the Wharton community. The event allowed me to form valuable relationships with current students who made themselves available to answer questions and assist me in any way they could throughout the admissions process. I am very grateful for their assistance and look forward to becoming an active member of AAMBAA when I arrive on campus."
- Travis Mells, WG'08
